VIAKORO and Degussa in the Sun – Dominicana Moda 2017

VIAKORO and Degussa in the Sun – Dominicana Moda 2017 1800 1200 Galia Brener

Finally the big day has arrived! It was time to jet off to Santo Domingo for the long-awaited Dominicana Moda, the fashion week of the Dominican Republic. As I closed my eyes and thought about the palm trees swaying in the soft warm wind, it was clear to me that this journey will be the perfect place to photograph and show my beloved VIAKORO jewelry in 750 yellow gold and 925 silver. As we landed and got off the plane, the intense heat wave kissed my face. I heard the jewellry and dresses in my suitcase calling my name, just as happy as I was for the Dominicana Moda to finally start!

VIAKORO Collection Nr. 1: FLORO in 750 yellow gold

The Look: Beach Angel

Even though my complexion is quite pale and I never go under the sun, I always love wearing white in the summer – especially on the beach and poolside. This has always been my style rule for as long as I can remember. White and colors in the summer, while opting for black in the winter.

On the first day, I wore my Ibiza-inspired short white cold-shoulder dress with colorful flower embroidery. Liking to emphasize my waistline, I tied my vintage wine-colored suede belt around it. I call this the beach angel look because of the flowing white ruffles around the shoulders and the colorful accents, reflecting the flowers and nature.

I polished off the look with the VIAKORO FLORO collection – panassia bracelet, trillium necklace and earrings in 750 yellow gold. The FLORO collection was a perfect match to the floral designs on the dress and also the amazing colorful flowers in the resort. This look was perfect to combine with my new blue / gold sunglasses and my special edition gBag in lilac metal python.

VIAKORO Collection Nr. 2: STELO in 925 silver

The Look: Yellow Glam

The first evening out called for a glamorous look. I have tried to avoid the horrendous yellow color my entire life, until TK Maxx and this trip opened my eyes! As I skeptically packed this marvelous yellow creation, I wasn’t sure how it would match my personal style. As I left my hotel room and stepped out into the glowing evening sun, I instantly fell in love with yellow after all these years! My shock was huge. The Yellow Glam is officially my new acquired style since today. This Dominicana Moda adventure got better by the day, because little did I except to fall in love with my most hated color. I adore such long and flowing maxi dresses, making one instantly feel like the glamorous queen of the night.

This elegant dress is decorated with silver stones on the front, making it a perfect match for the VIAKORO STELO collection – polaris necklace and gravity earrings in 925 silver. The Viva Wyndham has a very unique bar area with colorful hand-painted ceramic tiles decorating both the floor and walls. This matched the yellow silk to perfection and I felt like Alice in Wonderland, floating into another world, while holding onto my nature python gBag.

VIAKORO Collection Nr. 3: VECO in 750 yellow gold

The Look: Hippie Chic

Elegant and légère. I especially picked this dress out because it’s shorter in the front and longer in the back, making it great for both day and night time – casual meets chic. I love this short / long style because one can see the shoes and legs quite well in the front, while the back part of the dress sways elegantly on the floor. I also adore the little coins decorating the fringe of the dress, giving it the sensual gypsy touch and making a soft chiming sound as I walk.

This dress represents my style well because I have been in love with the tie-dye effect ever since I was a child. I found the love for this style by looking at my parent’s old hippie photos. Throughout the years, the tie-dye pattern has really shaped my personal style.

The VIAKORO VECO collection – aurora set in 750 yellow gold was perfect for this look because the word Aurora has a direct correlation to the sun! Good things are never a coincidence. I combined this with my new gBag collection in nature python, perfectly matching the warm Caribbean sun. I wore my hair up in a large high bun, complementing the elegant summer hippie look.

VIAKORO Collection Nr. 4: TRANCO in 750 yellow gold

The Look: Retro Dreams

This casual creation is perfect for the lounging resort look, because it can be worn with flats or dressed up with sexy high heels. This mirrors my style very well because I absolutely adore maxi dresses. I find them to be elegantly timeless. The print has a tie-dyed touch to it, adding onto the warm retro effect. I adore the long slit on the front, making it perfect to show off legs and curves. The cold-shoulder cut gives it the sensual yet nonchalant look.

I found my personal style many years ago in combining two of my favorite things: a maxi dress with a leather jacket. Even if I go to a very fancy event, I will definitely wear my favorite tight leather jacket with my long dress, instead of a blazer or fancier coat. I have been doing this for ages, and that will never change. This gives the long dress a rock-chic look, making it very seductive and a bit dangerous.

I accessorized this look with the VIAKORO TRANCO collection in 750 yellow gold. I decided to wear the complete krado set for the ultimate chic look, and combined it with round golden sunglasses and the gBag in black python.

• VIAKORO TRANCO bracelet krado
• VIAKORO TRANCO necklace krado
• VIAKORO TRANCO earrings krado

7 Dresses 7 Days – Dominicana Moda 2017

7 Dresses 7 Days – Dominicana Moda 2017 1200 1800 Galia Brener

Finally the big day has arrived! It was time to jet off to Santo Domingo for the long-awaited Dominicana Moda, the fashion week of the Dominican Republic. As I closed my eyes and thought about the palm trees swaying in the soft warm wind, it was clear to me that I will go for the ultra feminine look and wear only dresses all week long. Therefore my concept for this fashion week adventure was “7 Dresses 7 Days”.

The trip started a week earlier for me as I made my rounds to all the TK Maxx stores around me, in search of the perfect dresses. What I love about this store is the exciting bargain hunt – where you never know which treasure you will find! It reminds me of the treasure hunt games I played as a child. Although sometimes it takes a bit longer, it’s totally worth it to search through all the clothing. This time I went home with many couture gems that were absolutely perfect for the fashion week and front row.

TK Maxx has many of the designer labels that I love and always up to 60% less than the RRP – making it a win / win situation for me. The easy part is that all the clothing is sorted in product categories and sizes, making the search super simple. After a few days of happy TK Maxx hunting, I packed 7 perfect dresses for 7 exciting days! I was very pleased that I found everything I needed that matched my personal style. (See the 7 looks and photos below).

As I left my apartment in Frankfurt, I felt the excitement flying around in my stomach. I met my friends Jens Prewo and Sabrina Setlur at the airport and we boarded the plane, all extremely thrilled about our upcoming journey.

I kept my travel outfit light and funny, with my favorite “Kiss the Boys and Make Them Cry” T-shirt, paired with black leggings, an A-line skirt with white polka dots and biker boots, all purchased at TK Maxx as well. I threw on my black leather jacket and wool scarf, knowing that it’s always cold on the plane.

As we landed and got off the plane, the intense heat wave kissed my face. I heard the dresses in my suitcase calling my name, just as happy as I was for the Dominicana Moda to finally start!

Sieben Kleider, sieben Tage – Dominicana Moda 2017

Dress 1

I polished off the look with gold jewelry in a floral pattern, because it matches the floral designs on the dress and also the amazing colorful flowers in the resort. This look was perfect to combine with my new blue / gold sunglasses and my special edition gBag in lilac metal python.

Kleid 1

Dress 2

This elegant dress is decorated with silver stones on the front, making it a perfect match for my silver jewelry collection. The Viva Wyndham has a very unique bar area with colorful hand-painted ceramic tiles decorating both the floor and walls. This matched the yellow silk to perfection and I felt like Alice in Wonderland, floating into another world, while holding onto my nature python gBag.

Kleid 2

Dress 3

I accessorized the look with my new gBag collection in nature python and yellow gold jewelry, perfectly matching the warm Caribbean sun. I wore my hair up in a large high bun, complimenting the elegant summer hippie look.

Dress 3

Dress 4

The Look: Wild Bird Lady

Staying true to the Dominican style with transparency and lace, I wore my very short bird dress. I gave the look this funny name because it reminds me of an extravagant bird, seductively flying away on a mission! That is exactly what I was doing there.

The cut is my favorite A-line, with long flared-arms and a transparent décolleté front. The lace is black and the layer underneath is nude toned and very delicate. I combined it with my beloved extra large black rose headpiece, golden round sunglasses and my gBag in nature beige python.

I decided the first day of the Dominicana Moda and front row calls for an old-school “sunglasses-at-night” situation and emphasized my lips with a bright red color. All in all, this turned out to be a very wild, unique and interesting outfit, which shows my creative side quite well. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I am known for my wild outfits and crazy combinations. For me, everyday is carnival. My Darlings, never be afraid to express yourself. Be wild and colorful. Show your personal style to the world!

Kleid 4

Dress 5

I accessorized this look with my gold jewelry, round golden sunglasses and the gBag in black python.

Kleid 5

Dress 6

The Look: A Vogue Moment

I was saving this special dress for Casa de Campo, matching the luxurious and chic style of the resort. I have never been one for allover sequin, therefore this black gown was the perfect mix for me. Sequin on the top and long chiffon pleats from the waistline down.

This is a perfect match for my Gali-Style because it has the traditional Greek Goddess empire waist, which I love so much. I find that it compliments my small waist and curvy hips. I also adore the halter-top cut, giving the shoulders the proper attention and accentuating the color bone. I think there is a special kind of sexy allure in wearing such an elegant dress in the daytime.

This minimally chic dress was the perfect contrast to the spotless blue sky, the turquoise pool water, the exotic lush green nature and sparkling ocean water. I find that this look really has the front row “wow-effect”, therefore I called it a “Vogue Moment”. I topped off the look with gold jewelry and sunglasses.

Kleid 6

Dress 7

The Look: Polka Dot Desire

Last but not least came the polka dot desire. My love for maxi dresses will never die out and this is a huge element that defines my personal style. I adore the flowing style that blows in the wind as you walk, giving every woman the glamorous, elegant and “supermodel-on-the-runway” look.

This silk creation can be combined with espadrilles, sandals, high heels or ever flip-flops – for the ultra relaxed beach look. I opted to go bare feet on the beach with this dress, feeling free as a hippie and light as a feather. The cold-shoulder design gives this dress a very feminine touch. As you may have noticed, I like showing my shoulders and recommend it to you, because it’s a very sensual part of a woman’s body. I definitely prefer showing shoulders and back rather than décolleté. This is more sophisticated and alluring. Show less and make the imagination long for more!

This dress has a thin belt made of the same material to tie around the waist, which emphasizes the curves. I polished the look with a mix gold jewelry and round sunglasses.

Kleid 7

After the beautiful 7 dresses were worn on 7 days, the Dominicana Moda has come to an end. It was an unforgettable journey full of fashion highlights, joy, excitement, travel, exotic food and culture, fashion shows, parties, backstage visits, style, adventure, love, happiness and more! A big thanks to the fashion masterminds at TK Maxx for making all of my looks possible with your amazing store selection! I will never forget this experience and will cherish all 7 dresses.

As I slowly unpacked my suitcase and hung the 7 dresses up in a special part of my closet, I had a secretive smile on my face, knowing exactly when I will wear these lovely creations again!

Glamour in our City – The Sportpresseball is coming soon!

Glamour in our City – The Sportpresseball is coming soon! 960 720 Galia Brener
• Advertisement / Anzeige •

Frankfurt is a very special city. I am not just saying that because I gave my heart away to this little cosmopolitan gem long ago. I have always compared Frankfurt to a diamond in the rough. It might look a bit tough from the outside, but once you have penetrated the hard layers, there is a bright and unmistakable shine, which no other city has. A unique glow that is distinctive only to our little treasure.

Our city is highlighted with skyscrapers, which look like a string of glowing pearls hypnotizing the night sky. My absolute favorite part of the city is our very own Alte Oper, where the magic happens. This grandiose building has seen many cultural happenings in its time and therefore is the perfect location for the glamorous Sportpresseball. The excitement begins already in the summer, when the ladies start looking for breathtaking ball dresses. There is an unspoken feeling of thrill – a rush – of who will be the fairest one of all? There are many mirrors, mirrors on the wall – at this enchanting ball of all!

The Sportpresseball takes place in November of each year, always bringing new surprises. This year the prestigious Pegasos award is given to Reinhold Messner, for being the “Legend of Sport” with his unparalleled mountain climbing achievements. Germany’s beloved dancer, Motsi Mabuse will grace the dance floor with her magnificent skills and open the show with a special performance with her husband. The long awaited surprise has been finally revealed! When the clock strikes midnight, the famous Anastacia will rock the stage with her top hits – bringing us the magical “Cinderella-at-the-Ball” effect – at its finest.

Being the true Frankfurt patriot that I am, I have attended the Sportpresseball every year since I moved from Toronto to Germany. Over the years, my dresses have ranged from a low cut turquoise Cavalli creation, to Frankfurt’s Ollendiek – evil queen design, and even an extravagant Asian dragon concoction. As a true fashion victim, I start planning my dress choices already at the beginning of the year. Yes I know, this sounds very dramatic, but you have to be at the Sportpresseball to understand why! There is so much glamour that evening: the elegant red carpet, many celebrities, VIPs, sport stars, politicians, fans, press and more – and everyone looks so damn fabulous. There is a hype as to who will wear what – and we Frankfurters always welcome a friendly fashion competition.

A few years ago we sat beside Lothar Matthäus, who explained the football game process to us ladies. I pretended I didn’t know much about the “game”, to see which juicy stories might be told throughout the evening. At the end I admitted to him that I am a die-hard Eintracht Frankfurt fan and you can imagine what his reaction was like. Absolutely priceless! I am very happy that Eintracht is the premium partner of the Sportpresseball this year, because all the guests will receive limited edition scarves with the ball and team logo. I will wear mine the entire year! #nurdiesge

What I also love about this ball are the fun entertainment activities. Selected companies display their brands and people have a chance to win many goodies. A few years ago, I went home with two bags filled with prizes. Somehow I got really lucky that year. We will see if “Lady Luck” will be at my side this year as well.

The metropress agency confirmed that there will be a tombola with prizes ranging from 1.000€ to 40.000€ – which is a fast Golf GTE. I don’t mind going home at the end of the night with this handsome VW. Have I already mentioned that all the drinks are included in the ticket price – champagne as well! There will also be a club lounge set up for the after party by Hugo’s at the top floor. I will bring my highest and lowest heels, because it will be a long and fun evening. I am really excited because in my opinion, this is among the finest that our city has to offer and this event attracts people from all over the world. This is our chance as Frankfurters to show the world what we are about – not only a top financial hub and cool creatives, but also glamour at its best!

If you are curious and want to see what’s happening live at the Sportpresseball on November 4th, take a look at my Instagram channel. I will be posting many live stories from the pre-ball VIP cocktail event at Sofitel, behind-the-scenes, red carpet, dinner, the presenters and winners, the amazing entertainment and shows, the after party and much more!

You can buy Sportpresseball tickets here: www.deutscher-sportpresseball.de/tickets

The anticipation grows… I’m looking forward to see you on November 4th my dears and let’s rock the city together!

My Luxury Birthday Weekend at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera

My Luxury Birthday Weekend at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera 1365 2048 Galia Brener

The week started off with my usual yearly birthday blues. I always get them a week before and after. I find that there is something about getting older that is bitter sweet. The upside of having a birthday means that we get a yearly life extension and fresh start to tackle all of our dreams, wishes and goals. Yet the downside to it is that we are – one year older! I have learned to see it all philosophically, knowing that fate has a plan for us anyways, so why not enjoy the ride while we get to the destination? That’s when my phone rang and the lovely Mrs. Wagner invited me to celebrate my birthday in style and luxury at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera. At this exciting prospect, my blues were starting to fade into whites, which I knew would eventually turn into pinks and reds.

I think it’s a very cool concept to be able to have a nice weekend holiday within your own city. What a novel idea! Who says one has to drive many kilometers away to feel rest and relaxation re-enter your body, while the evil work-demon leaves you in peace? I made an experiment and stayed inside the Sofitel for my entire birthday weekend and came out feeling happy, rested and recharged.

The adventure started with my arrival at the hotel. I was very impressed to see that the entire staff was briefed about my arrival and I didn’t have to explain anything. I was checked in quickly and shown to my suite. The first activity for my birthday weekend was the glamorous photo shooting. The first stop was on the fabulous terrace of the presidential suite, where one can see the entire magnificent Frankfurt skyline. I was quite familiar with this stunning view, because the Frankfurter Neue Presse photographed me there on New Year’s in 2016. Before the action with the photographer and stylist began, I took a few moments for myself to enjoy and breathe in the mesmerizing scene in front of me. I always feel a moment of joy when I see our skyline. For me, this is the equivalent of being at home.

The wind was blowing and the air was warm and sweet, whispering to me, encouraging me to enjoy and live in the moment. I felt like I could have stayed on that terrace for ages! Later on we took some elegant photos inside the presidential suite and on the bed as well. I have to say that Sofitel definitely has one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. It’s really like resting on a cloud. After a day full of photo shooting – 5 locations, wearing 3 different outfits – it was finally time to rest and get ready for my birthday dinner.

Being the notorious foodie that I am, I was really looking forward to try out the Schönemann restaurant. We were seated at a large table and greeted with a cold glass of champagne. The chef himself came out and announced our menu for the evening. I really felt like a princess there, because Sofitel did everything possible to make me feel very welcomed and pampered! We started off with a fresh Caesar salad and succulent king prawns. Next was a cold refreshing gazpacho soup, made in the traditional Andalusian way. I acquired my love for gazpacho on Ibiza and was happy to have it here again. For the main course, we were served the signature dish “Coq au Apfelwein” prepared with organic chickens that are raised 30km away from Frankfurt and the city’s beloved apple wine. Last but not least, came two sweet delicacies – a heavenly crème brûlée and a rich chocolate mousse tarte. The dinner was accompanied by a savory selection of the best wines, and of course my favorite was the Rosé de Diel. We ate to our heart’s desire and enjoyed every exquisitely delicious moment.

The lovely evening was running quickly and it was 11pm already – only one hour left until the big day. It was great spending the entire weekend at the hotel because everything was under the same roof. It was time to float over to the seductive Lili’s bar, where I like the dim lights and very mysterious atmosphere. While waiting for the others to arrive and being the tequila fan that I am, I tried a few sorts at the bar and was very impressed. I always judge a good bar by the type of tequilas they have, and this one offers a rich international selection. Everyone arrived and as the time was approaching midnight, the bar manager brought out a special bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, which they have ordered just for me. All of a sudden, becoming a year older didn’t seem so bad after all. We drank, we laughed, we danced and had a very exciting evening! I couldn’t help but smiling to myself all the way back up to my suite. Yes, turning 28 again was quite fabulous indeed.

The next day was quite relaxing because my only plan was eating a huge breakfast, going to the spa and getting a special birthday massage. Life could be much worse! The breakfast buffet at the Sofitel offers everything that the heart desires, whether a meat-eater, vegetarian or vegan, everything can be found – including delicious sparkling wine, to make the celebrations even brighter! I ate everything that my eyes and stomach desired, because I have an important rule in life: no diet on the birthday!

Later on, I made my way to the spa area. I have been to a “So Spa” in Paris and was curious to see how Frankfurt will compare. I was impressed by the decor and combination of black and white colors – very chic indeed! I received a full body massage for an hour, which relaxed me to a dreamlike state. After the massage I was really looking forward to try the Skinjay essential oil capsules in my suite shower. I have read about this new addition to the Sofitel family and was very intrigued to see if it really is as fabulous and they promise. And indeed it was. It looks like a Nespresso-like capsule, which you place into the shower hose with your favorite natural oil aroma, and it mixes directly into the water! I read that it is based on a proprietary technology called micro-nebulization, which is activated at the heart of the mixer. It’s such a cool wellness experience – definitely a must to try out.

My amazing weekend was coming to an end and it was time to check out of paradise. I was greeted warmly by name at the reception and they made sure that all my needs were met. I have stayed at many 5-star hotels before, but this was definitely my favorite birthday experience. The French really know what luxury and pampering is all about! As I walked outside and looked up at the beautiful old opera building, my birthday blues were completely gone. I looked up at the skyscrapers and knew that becoming a year old meant becoming a year stronger and wiser. I really enjoyed this birthday weekend in my own favorite city – a truly unforgettable experience.

Thank you to the amazing Sofitel Frankfurt Opera team for giving me a fairytale birthday weekend!

Beauty & Health Week – Summer Love Hair Makeover

Beauty & Health Week – Summer Love Hair Makeover 1836 2448 Galia Brener

BEAUTY

Last week, my lovely friend Jessica picked me up and we drove to Erdogu die Friseure in Bad Nauheim, Germany. I was not sure what to expect, but Jessica said that this was her favorite salon. I always trust that my girlfriends have great taste, so I knew right away that this will be a wonderful trip, and it definitely was!

Upon our arrival, Filiz Erdogu, the salon owner greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly hug. I got a nice tour of the place and was shown where the magic happens. I was pleasantly surprised when a beautiful young lady brought us a healthy breakfast to jumpstart our day. There is nothing like starting a Friday with delicious food, a healthy drink and beautiful hair.

I met Filiz’s great team who was in charge, and the lovely Özlem Albayrak was my chosen colorist. This was her plan for my hair:

1. Classic Highlights

  • With 3 different blond colors
  • 3 various bleaching levels to achieve a shimmering shading effect

2. Cellphones Treatment

  • Cellophanes protein treatment mixed in with Olaplex for amazing hair structure
  • Cellophanes is an organic hair color from the USA.
  • This closes the hair shaft and works as a long term treatment
  • I got 2 different tones in my hair:
    • Champagne Blonde: Brilliant, clear beige rose tone
    • Vanilla Blonde: Adds a delicate beige depth to blonds and highlights.

3. Styling

  • The team chose to style my hair straight.
  • I usually like my Hollywood waves, but decided to go straight chic this time.
  • I really don’t like cutting my hair, so it was left as it is

What impressed me a lot was Özlem’s love for perfection! She carefully colored each strand of my hair like it was a Mondrian painting – always staying inside the lines. I have never seen such careful attention to details. That really reminded me of myself, because I also have the perfection bone in my body. I admire and adore excellent and precise work.

After all of the Cellophanes were washed away and my hair was styled, I look at myself in the mirror and loved what I saw! The Erdogu die Friseure Team managed to get my hair in the lovely cold shade that I adore so much. I am not a big fan of very warm blonde, and it is always hard to get that perfect shade of “cool” – but this lovely team managed to do it perfectly. I will definitely be back for more.

HEALTH

As many of you have seen my posts on Instagram this month, I am trying out a new drink, which is the healthiest one I have tried in a while.

It is the Pure Tea from the company Pfanner. I love carrying my own drinks around with me, so I took the fruit-flavored tea with me to the salon and let the ladies try it. They also loved it as much as I do. What I really like about this product is:

  • There are 0 calories, 0 sugar inside and absolutely no sweeteners.
  • I am currently going through a detox phase and avoiding all sugars, therefore this fits perfectly.
  • Light and tasty. No sticky feeling.
  • For me, this is the best alternative to water. I always drink water and finally needed a change.
  • Great for yoga and sports because of the light taste, and it really quenches the thirst.
  • Ergonomic bottle design – makes it easy to carry on the go.
  • It tastes the best served ice cold on a hot summer day like this week.

My conclusion is that beauty and health go hand-in-hand. I guess you really cannot have one without the other. I ended my week with a glamorous new hair makeover and an amazing new drink discovery that will be my companion for a long time to come.

My dear readers, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will answer all questions personally.

Have a happy, healthy and fun weekend,

Your Gali

Villa Ratatouille Popup Opening in Frankfurt

Villa Ratatouille Popup Opening in Frankfurt 1200 774 Galia Brener

Mysterious. Delicious. Artistic. These are the first few words that come to mind when you enter this wonderful building. Located inconspicuously in the heart of Frankfurt, this silent villa sits in its splendor – pretending to be innocently empty. But it’s not. Quite the opposite actually. We rang the bell and the door quietly opened. We stepped inside and the adventure began.

We were greeted by two lovely young ladies from the Pomp brand. Very representative of Frankfurt – sparkling pink apple wine – their famous Cuvée rosé. We couldn’t help but notice the beautiful Japanese cherry blossom trees all the way up the staircase to the highest floor. We took our pink drink and made our way up to the gallery. I was really looking forward to this evening because of my love for art and food – two of my favorite elements mixed together. The first room we entered was quite a dark one. I was enticed by the beautiful hearts painted on an open hand, ready to give hope to its lucky receivers. The painting didn’t have a name, so I called it the “Hearts of Hope” – with many beautiful red hearts floating seductively towards the sky. The very talented artist – Justus Becker – told us that his work and inspiration is called “COR” – very fitting to an evening full of love and passion. The other rooms had works of art by Diana Catherine Eger and others.

As we continued up the stairway to heaven, we arrived on the floor where the dinner was to take place. There were two rooms, beautifully decorated with antique chandeliers, candles and exquisite carpets on the wall by Fashion For Floors. The tables were set up in an elegant way to allow one to meet and mingle with their neighbors and maybe even flirt with that lovely lady or gentleman across the table. Of course it wasn’t a surprise for us to hear that the dinners for every evening in the duration of the event were already sold out! This little sweet artistic surprise in Frankfurt became popular quite quickly – everyone wanted in!

In a matter of an hour, the two dining rooms filled with people, and everyone was eager to taste the luxurious delicacies of Rainer Neidhart, a well-known television cook. The “who’s who” of Frankfurt were there, the mood was happy and cheerful, the Pomp and Grauburgunder were flowing and the people were chirping with excitement. The delicious menu was served, accompanied by perfectly fitting wines to each course. The DJ was spinning his funky beats in the room next door, which gave us a perfect chance to walk around and mingle between the fabulous taste buds explosions. The bar area was full of people, all curious to see the art and get a glimpse of this awesome popup location.

I was impressed with the amazing organization and operation of the evening. The menu was served to over 100 people in the mysterious abandoned villa in perfect timing. Nobody was left out and everything was cooked to perfection. Peyman Far of the Landwehrstübchen restaurant und Max Reggiannini did a great job making it all happen – the masterminds of Villa Ratatouille. I was happy to see Daniel Tobias Etzel, owner of the WAOH agency, who spread the magic of the Villa in Frankfurt and called me up about this fabulous event. Thanks Daniel for keeping our city exciting.

The Villa is a special place in Frankfurt. I was speaking to the owner last night and he told me, “The villa was created last year as an off-space location for exhibitions (Staedel students), pop up restaurants, art and music performances and other happenings. It’s all combined with a real communal touch, and everyone feels like they are a part of it, and the atmosphere and aura of the place makes it even more special. When the villa closes, we can look back and say, as a community, we did something creative with this place and had some good times, laughs and memories.”

Villa Ratatouille, located at the Windmühlstraße 9 in Frankfurt, will be open until the 7th of May, offering us some weeks of fun bar and gallery evenings. There is a changing lineup with a new DJ every evening. You can check out the lineup on the Facebook page.

From 7pm until late at night, the Villa is the perfect place to unwind after work, indulge in artistic culture, meet new people and just have fun. Villa Ratatouille is about emotions, love and enjoying the moment in our fast paced world. I have to say that I was very impressed with this evening – definitely an enrichment to our little city with a big attitude!

Outfit of the Day: Color Splash on a Gray Day

Outfit of the Day: Color Splash on a Gray Day 900 1200 Galia Brener

Outfit: sweater: Zara, leggings: Topshop, boots: Bullboxer, vest: Furry, hat: Accessorize, bag: Burberry, gloves: vintage, necklace: Deloa

As I woke up today, I looked out the window and was not sure if it is still night or already morning! I jumped out of the bed and ran to my colors treasure chest and started to dig for a rainbow to brighten up my day! We have arrived at the gray season. Since there is quite a lack of snow this winter, we are only left with various shades of grays. However, do not let that stop you from bringing out your internal sunshine and happiness with bright colors!

A few weeks ago I was asked by the BILD newspaper what I think Frankfurt should improve on, and one of my answers were: That people should wear more colors here. So staying true to my own advice, I have decided to delve into my wardrobe to spice up a dark winter day.

Do not be afraid to mismatch colors! We do not live in a perfect world in a time where everything has to precisely match. We have arrived in a time to explore outside of the edges. Mix and match. Let your creativity and imagination run wild! I even go to the extent of wearing clashing patterns. I believe that 2016 is a perfect time to live boldly and explore your tastes and uniqueness!

Fashion goes in circles. It tends to repeat itself, just like the natural cycles of life. Therefore, bring out the vintage, like I did with the gloves, and combine it with something completely crazy and out of the ordinary. Have no fear to go the extra mile and wear something different. I would suggest to never try to conform and always have your unique touch in everything that you do and wear. Dare to show your passion, desire and make yourself happy!
